Eau de Parfums
‘Fruit’ is one of the hardest categories to render a sophisticated olfactory statement within.
At one end of the spectrum it is the “tutti frutti’ synthetic blends (blueberry, guava and mango) and at the other (where essential oils feature), it is a very blunt spa-like feeling like of lemon, orange and lime.
When I started drafting this new endeavour, I wanted it to capture the Jonathan Ward spirit, but instead of an esoteric cinematic inspiration, I looked back to the way that I worked when I captured Fig Ultimatum. The approach took on a much more ingredient based build.
I created two complex accords. Pure ambergirs, tonka bean and sandalwood were blended with cashmere and the breathy iso-e-super which gives amber a lighter airy feeling.
Then I took sweet fennel and lime and blended a small amount of gamma nona which is a clever note (a lactone) reducing the sharp from the fennel and lime. White grapefruit, bergamot and precious & pure orange flower bring this to a finale.
And what is the result ?
A sopshiticated fruit blend that fuses herbaceous and citrus with a sensual platform. The zest and the tart melds deeply into the amber and woods to give fruit a whole new platform.
Froot is born.
With purity at the helm, this aroma is a new statement in bringing elegance to a category I often find myself perplexed by its popular appeal. If you like Fig Ultimatum or Roscuro, this is for you.
Something for the boys.
(and the girls that like to smell like boys)
Fragrances are like soldiers and only the brave standout. Iin an ever encroashing army of olfactory heroes vying for their medal or coat of arms, unique and bold mark the criteria to achieve longevity.
‘Abelando could be described quite deftly as the very origin of his namesake, ‘noble’. His clothes, perfectly tailored and notably ‘clean’, always carried notes of his life’s indulgence. The finest fibres of wool and satin carried ghosts of imperial Cuban cigar smoke and forgotten drops of cognac. Shadows of evenings spent with beautiful debutantes wrapped in a unique dark masculine pheromone only recognisable in Cuban skin.’
Partagais No.1 starts with a classic Chypre structure. infusing striking patchouli, oakmoss, tobacco leaf and burned cedar with a peppering of organic black pepper, frankincese and oud.
Hidden within the structure but enhancing the tobacco and woods lie sweet civet, honey with violet leaf.
Bold, wild and long-lasting.

Inspired by true events (allegedly)…
Blair wrapped his mum’s stole around his neck, with that wide eyed childhood gaze staring back at her in the many mirrors. With a handful of jewel’s and heels that swallowed almost half of his calf, he clopped around the adjacent vast of the dressing room. unleashing the first seeds of his budding lifelong commitment to fashion and a magpie like quest for shiny things…
This scent is my fourth perfume endeavour, exploring the ambiguous fluidity of gender neutral scents. Man, woman, boy, girl… scent (for me) is such a striking art form that dances across gender and identity in an effortless way.
This scent creates a harmonious accord of sensual depth by blending Bulgarian Rose, sweet hazel wood, tonka bean, cashmere musk and iris. It is enigmatic and addicitve as I find myself searching through the blended accords for more and more. Creativity comes in bursts and this was something i just could not ‘not’ bring to life.
A big thank you to my special client Lisa who helped me bring this to the world

"So, we emerged. The arid red dust slipped through the grains in the wooden slats and the silence that had eerily replaced the turbine mechanics of Mother Naure’s deathly but divine meteorological gusto was gone. Lu unlocked the latch and slowly pushed the door upwards revealing sunshine and a landscape that had changed. Unrecognisable, The sun performed it’s regular act and cast its rays falling on the townsfolk who’s quibbles and petty disputes, masked disdain for others who lived lives they judged and scorned. Kansas. Touched with blessings of kindness and peace.”

Just like the turbulence and distraught speed in which our globe was engulfed with it’s own spectrum tornado. From continent to content they subside and while not entirely silent. The spirals dance less monstrously than they did two years ago. This was the inspiration for this aroma, the first EDP from Jonathan Ward. To create a sense of sensuality and divinity from notes scattered and cast worldwide.
Giving light to the people who felt like they had lived in bunkers for years cast out with vitriol and disdain. There is balance somewhat restored between humans and this is what I wanted to bring to life. Disparate Divinity cast from far flung areas - lovingly measured and crafted to create a reply intriguing aroma with the depth of valleys and the mystery of undiscovered hidden places where ingredients can only grow because of meteorological magic.
